Recruit fis the nation's most respected source for recruiting information and services, and is used daily by college coaches, high school athletes and high school coaches. Our national headquarters is located in Bakersfield, California.
College coaches look to us to provide them with valuable information on high school athlete's from around the country. Most college coaches can not find out about every athlete in every part of the country, which is why they rely on Recruit to be their "eyes and ears" when scouting talented high school athletes.
High school athletes look to us to give them access to the college coaches who are searching for talented athletes for their collegiate athletic programs. Without Recruit, many of these high school athletes would go unnoticed by college coaches, even though they have the talent to play at some level in college.
High school coaches work with Recruit regularly, partnering with the nationwide staff at Recruit to expose their athletes to college sports opportunities. Recruit also provides high school coaches with valuable recruiting information and resources with a special internet site designed exclusively for coaches at http://www.highschoolcoach.com.
What Does Recruit Do To Promote High School Athletes?
Recruit sends thousands of informational reports to college coaches every month about athletes that college coaches would otherwise overlook. These reports allow a college coach to "scout" the athlete and view his or her data, allowing the coach to pursue athletes that would fit into their particular program and meet their particular needs.
Our regional scouts evaluate athletes, interview them for the Recruit program, and compile the data used in the reports that are sent to college coaches. In addition to sending college coaches printed reports, Recruit has designed an exclusive internet recruiting tool just for college coaches at www.recruitathletes.com. This site allows a college coach to enter our nationwide database online, scout our athletes, print their information, and recruit them for their sports program. The Recruit staff also calls college coaches throughout the year, finding out what their needs are and promoting our athletes to them for consideration.
As a scout, you would log on to your secure scout page via our internet site and submit the name of a prospect, the school that they attend, their sex and their sport. The staff at Recruit download this information daily and create custom direct mail packets for your athletes, each one being addressed to the parents of the athlete and sent to the athlete's school. If the athlete is interested in going through the interview process with you, they will fill-out and sign a business reply card and send it back to Recruit. Once we receive it, we immediately enter the information into our system and notify you that the athlete wants you to contact them for an interview. It's that simple! You are only contacting athletes and parents who want to be contacted, saving you time and allowing you to speak with only those who are interested in the Recruit program.
The next step is to conduct an interview evaluation with the athlete and his or her parents. If the athlete meets our criteria, and is interested in participating in Recruit's unique exposure program, they would choose which program package is best suited for their needs. Program enrollment fees are paid by the athlete's family, and range in cost from $175 to $1275. Our $875 mid-level full service program is the most popular choice among today's high school student athlete. Recruit has several different payment options that allow us to be sensitive to practically any family budget. Athletes can even pay their enrollment fee by credit card.
After the athlete and scout agree on the right program, the scout creates the athlete's unique athletic profile that will be sent to colleges throughout the country. The mid-level program that we spoke about a moment ago would send the athlete's updated information out to targeted college coaches every four months throughout the athlete's high school career. This means that the athlete getting overlooked by college coaches is now exposed to dozens of sports scholarship opportunities throughout the country! And, you as the Regional Scouting Director made it possible by allowing coaches around the nation to find out about athletes in your area.
No other high school scouting service in the country does as much as Recruit for deserving high school athletes!
Becoming A Recruit Regional Scouting Director
We assign our Regional Scouting Directors local area high schools. As a scout, you are responsible for scouting high school athletes at those schools, and developing ongoing relationships with the athletic administration staff and coaching staff at the school. You will also be responsible for interviewing and evaluating each athlete interested in the Recruit program, and presenting them with Recruit's services and resources as a solution to the challenge of finding just the right college sports program for their individual needs.
We do have some general guidelines that we look for when placing a Regional Scouting Director into a territory:
- Background
Do you have sports or sales experience? Do you have an interest in local athletics? - Flexible Hours
Would you be available to conduct interviews during nights and/or weekends? - Professional Conduct
We put a high emphasis on customer service, follow-up and ongoing consultative support. Do you enjoy interacting with people on a regular basis? - Computer Skills
We have developed a state-of-the-art online virtual office that each of our scouts has access to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Are your comfortable using a computer and the internet? Would you be willing to invest in a newer computer if needed? - Entrepreneurial Spirit
We want people who want to build a local home-based business, and have the energy and commitment to build a successful regional Recruit office. Are you willing to utilize Recruit's training and resources to achieve this goal?
There are two employment alternatives with Recruit:
- Our full-time position has a targeted earnings level of $35,000 the first year, and $50,000+ in the years following. You will be responsible for scouting high school athletes, presenting Recruit's programs and services to those athletes, and providing ongoing consultations with the families that are in the Recruit program. This is a full-time position, but it can be structured to allow for a four day work week.
- Our part-time position involves a smaller territory, and is designed for people who want to work with Recruit while keeping their current job. As a part-time scout, you would be concentrating on scouting local athletes and presenting the Recruit program to the athlete and their family. Committed part-time scouts can expect to earn $25,000+ the first year.
What Can You Expect To Earn As A Recruit Scout?
There are no earnings caps at Recruit. We want each individual scout to operate their local areas as they think they should be operated. We fully support every scout's ongoing development and growth through our corporate headquarters, and will work with scouts on an individual basis to create special programs for their local athletes.
Will You Be Successful As A Recruit Scout?
Again, the answer to that question depends upon you.
Our most successful Regional Scouting Directors have several traits in common with each other. See if these are qualities that would describe you:
- Our most successful scouts are consistently doing their job, meaning that they stick to their own pre-determined activity schedule and make sure that they set attainable targets each month and meet them (our minimum number of athlete interviews and evaluations is eight every month).
- Our most successful scouts truly care about their student-athletes, meaning that they take an active role in answering their questions, getting their most updated statistics and information, and keeping their data current on Recruit's interactive nationwide database.
- Our most successful scouts do a great job following-up with athletes every month, meaning that they stay in touch with the parents, the athletes and even the athlete's coach as their personal consultant and recruiting expert.
- Our most successful scouts interact with coaches and athletic directors in their area, letting them know how they will be working with the athletes in that area and making every effort to form working partnerships with high school and club coaches.
- Our most successful scouts enjoy operating their own business, meaning that they have a special entrepreneurial spirit that drives them to develop and grow a thriving regional sports-related business that can be operated from a home office.
If you possess these traits, then you probably have a successful sports and marketing career with Recruit waiting for you! We look forward to having you take the next step in our application process in just a few minutes, which will allow us to determine how we could best utilize your unique skills and abilities.
